Hopefully someone will respond, but it’s been a long time since I’ve followed new people on Tumblr. Ever since Soup stopped posting on here regularly, anything informative is left up to In Other News, Brooklyn Mutt, and sometimes I’m With Kanye. Does anyone have good recommendations for good people to follow who uncover compelling, not so obvious content?
Any ideas?

“Of course, Thomas had every right — as an American citizen — to do what he did. And I find myself increasingly unconvinced by the “respect for the office” argument that people are throwing up there against him. Here’s the deal: Just in my lifetime, the Office Of The President has hosted several blowjobs, some other unrelated sexytime, the organizing of coups, the abetting...

Definitely took a 20mg adderall about ten hours ago and wrote 8,383 in-very-heavy-need-of-an-edit-words (fifteen pages!) about a recent eight-day stretch of my life. So I didn’t go to sleep and now I am at work! How you doin’?

“An article on Monday about Jack Robison and Kirsten Lindsmith, two college students with Asperger syndrome who are navigating the perils of an intimate relationship, misidentified the character from the animated children’s TV show “My Little Pony” that Ms. Lindsmith said she visualized to cheer herself up. It is Twilight Sparkle, the nerdy intellectual, not Fluttershy, the kind...

These are, in no particular order, the five-or-so longreads that came to my mind when I decided to make a list of five-or-so longreads from 2011, so I guess it’s my List Of Longreads That I Guess Is A Top 5-Or-So List Since These Are The Ones I Am Listing list. Read them. Or don’t. Whatever.

A MC Who Very Well May Have Had A Hammer
Maybe I caught him at a bad time. It was late. Close to three in the morning. We’d been in the bodega for a long time. The sixer I grabbed when we first got there was beading, the bottles weren’t going to be as cold as they could be. Why am I even buying a six-pack? I add up the number of beers I’ve had already. Was it seven? There was that shot, so let’s say eight....
Why Seeing Shame Might Be A Little Weird For Me
The upcoming film Shame has several trailers out. It looks great and has been getting a lot of positive coverage from film critics who have seen it already. I plan on seeing it.
But the trailers. I think all of them feature a pretty woman who gives a certain look to Michael Fassbender during some sort of celebration scene. Here’s an example, she can be seen at the 0:25 mark.
Now, for...
In Which I Give The Fire Joe Morgan Treatment To A...
I’m like most people. I like sports and I like pop culture. I keep up-to-date with both to what is probably a shameful degree. This is to say that I watch Homeland, the new Showtime series about fighting terrorism, coming home in the Jon Voightian sense of the phrase, deception, Mandy Patinkin’s beard, and mental illness. So does Bill Simmons.
As much as I have criticized the site...
In Which I Give Chuck Klosterman The Fire Joe...
Chuck Klosterman wrote a post on Grantland with a list of who he thinks are the 50 best college basketball players of all-time. It’s a fun read, meant to provoke some debate of a good-natured sort and what-have-you. However, there are so many Klosterman-y moments sprinkled throughout that I started emailing—with the subject “Ooooh, boy”—my very-unsolicited criticisms...
